Handle compounds like the data depends on it, because it does.
Practical guidance on reconstitution, storage, and documentation, plus the research areas our catalog spans. Educational only, never a protocol for human use.
Handling guides
Reconstitution basics
Most lyophilized peptides reconstitute with bacteriostatic water. Add solvent slowly down the vial wall, never inject directly onto the powder, and swirl rather than shake.
Storage & stability
Keep lyophilized stock frozen (-20°C) and protected from light. Once reconstituted, refrigerate and use within the documented stability window; avoid repeated freeze-thaw cycles.
Working with concentrations
Concentration = mass ÷ solvent volume. Reconstituting a 5mg vial with 2mL gives 2.5mg/mL. Always work from the strength printed on the batch label and its COA.
Reading a COA
A certificate of analysis reports identity (MS), purity (HPLC %), and screens such as endotoxin. Match the batch number on the COA to the one on your vial before relying on the figures.
